The film Insomnia starts with it's logo shown at the beginning of the opening scene.

The first opening title of this film is the company's name.

The second opening title has the name of the production.

The opening scene then includes a name of the actor.

The fourth opening title includes a name of a actor.

The fifth opening title is also of a name of a character in the film.

The sixth opening title of the film includes the name of the film.

The seventh film opening includes the name of a female actress who has a part in the film.

The eighth opening title is a name of an actor that has a part in the film.

The ninth opening title is also of an actor that plays a role in the film.

The tenth opening title is also the name of an actor.

The eleventh opening title has further three names of actors that cast in the film.

The 12th opening title is the name of the person who cast the actors. 

The 13th opening title has the name of the co-producer.

The 14th opening title includes the name of the two executive producers.

The 15th opening title includes the name further two executive producers.

The 16th opening title included the name of the person who created the music.

The 17th opening title includes the name of the editor of the film.

The 18th opening title includes the name of the production designer.

The 19th opening title includes the name of the director of photography.

The 20th opening title shows the name of the two producers.

The 21st opening title includes further two names of people who have produced the film.

The 22nd opening title shows the name of the person who was in charge of the screenplay.

The 23rd opening title shows the name of the director.

Billing Order

           The film Coherence's first title credits in the billing order features the actors and actresses starring.

These title credits last approximately 3 seconds before fading quickly away.

The text is a slightly transparent white, providing a ghostly, ominous feel.

It is conventional for the opening credits of films to feature the main starring actors first.

The next title in the billing order is the title of the film. 

This is followed by the film's music composer. 

And then the editor.

The next title screen features the executive producers.

The co-producer is the next title credit

The next title credit is the producer.

The storyboarders are featured next.

The next title screen features the screenwriter.

The last title screen is the director. This order has been conventional to opening credits of films since 1990.

When I think about our genre which is psychological thriller most of the images that do come up in my mind is horror. Which can be connected to blood, mind, screams and pressure.

Genre Typecasting - A Short Movie, by Mitali and Sonia

Sonia: (picks up a pen and notebook) So, Mitali, which actors usually appear in our chosen genre?

Mitali: Well, looking at IMDb's website, it seems that most actors known for starring in psychological thrillers are white, middle aged men.

Sonia: (raising an eyebrow) However, you do have to take into consideration the age they were when they starred in the movie.

Mitali: (defensively) I know! I looked at the two movies Memento and Insomnia and the main characters seem to be 30 years plus.

Sonia: So why do you think this is?

Mitali: Because of the target audience?

Sonia: Ah yes, because older characters are stereotypically wiser and therefore make the movie seem more "intellectual". Psychological thrillers play with the audience's mind and so they need actors who can intellectually challenge them, and this becomes especially effective if the main character(s) are of a similar age to the target audience, which, for us, is 20 to 40 years old. This allows the audience to relate more to them, as this helps to play with the audience's mind as the similarities make the movie more realistic.

Mitali: (enthusiastically) YES, SONIA! But how will this help us in our casting for our film opening?

Sonia: Well, this certainly tells us what age the actors we cast should be.

Mitali: But what about ethnicity and gender?

Sonia: (looking baffled) Erm...

Mitali: To be honest, I think that the reason white males are usually cast as main characters is due to the inequality between genders and ethnicities in the film industry...but that'll lead to a whole new discussion...
