Production log
Week One
In the first week Sarangan completed the filming of our preliminary task. My role during this was to lead to with the camera work and directing as there was only two of us we had to do all the work as a pair. We were then put into our final groups which included me, Shivani, Sonia and Mitali and I and had to think of logo ideas for our production company.
Week Two
We decided on a opening scene we would like to make a remake of. As a group we created a shot list which included the timings of each shot and gave us an indication of what kind of shot it was and noted the costume down. We then filmed the shot by shot remake. My role was to lead with the camera work and editing the shots and make sure it looked as precise as possible.
Week Three
We each had to analyse a film opening of our choice and I decided to do Bratz, we had to include the conventions used and relating to the aspects of MECS. As a group we decided on a genre for our own film opening, we first narrowed it down to Fantasy and Psychological Thriller. However we decided as a group we decided to do psychological thriller as fantasy would be harder to create with limited technology and the Psychological Thriller would be much more interesting .
Week Four
We had to choose two films within our genre so I choose which were Black Swan and Panic Room which liked to our chosen genre- psychological thriller. My analysis included the features of MECS and how it was effective during the opening. We looked at what sort of people are found in psychological thrillers and why they might be chosen and our specific target audience.
Week Five:
We had to focus on our target audience so we came up with a mood board which showed what we associated with what we think of when Psychological Thriller comes to our mind. Also we discussed our target audience such as demographics and psychographics.
