Target Audience Research

Social Media for Target Audience

This is some social medias that we would use in the future to target our audiences. Our target audiences gender are both female and male, as both of the genders are attracted and prefer watching psychological thriller movies, as they like thriller and suspense in the movies. The class that may get attracted by our advertisements and opening scene are most likely to be middle class, as they would go out and watch movies more frequently. Also, our opening scene would allow any person to watch it even if they are educated or not in the society. The audience will mostly befrom the UK as the language the character in our opening scene speak English.

This type of films (psychological thriller) may be most of the audiences hobbies as they would like to watch this all the time and have a quite bigger interest on this, as they may like the content in it which may be crime or mystery, that would attract our audiences to watch our opening scene. This is the reason why in the pictures I added a darker effect that would create mystery and suspense around the audiences, also show the character is positioned in the advertisement.

Editors

The editors have a great contribution in making a movie or even TV shows. They are likely to work closely with the directors, as they need to check if every shot is perfectly chosen to that they can edit into the series scene, which need to make scene to the audience.

All the editors work very long hours as, with a lot of pressure with them, as all the edits they do need to make scenes of hoe the story did unfold, that's the reason y they start working with all the films scene from the beginning till the end. Although in  last they do choose the best edit and takes from the film scenes.

This shows how they have to work so hard, but also it takes a lot of time to make the edits so it can look perfect, as if any mistake does happen in editing the audience will be less likely to watch the film as it wont make sense to them.

Representation of Gender in Psychological Thrillers

The females in the thriller films are very significant because they have no stereotypical role in the genre, this is because in some films, they play the cold hearted and emotionless. Females in thrillers can be also portrayed as the damsel in distress, who needs saving by the protagonist, which is usually the male as he is portrayed as mentally and physically stronger than females in thriller films. On the other hand it is quite common for the females to be the survivor in thrillers and horror films, which could also subvert to this stereotype, they are also portrayed as very charming and glamorous due to mise en scene such as clothing and make up.

The men in thriller film are portrayed as both the protagonists and the antagonists; The males are often portrayed as the strong hero, who saves the day by figuring out the enigma which is usually given to the audience at the start or middle of the film. They are usually mentally and physically strong and shows there strength and independent. The males are also the antagonists which is the villain, there is usually a background story to why the male wants to do evil, due to previous situations which may include the protagonist which could link into any of the key themes.
